How I fixed the reason doctors were using WhatsApp for patient care
Meducure is a secure clinical messaging platform. When I joined, doctors were ignoring it and using consumer apps instead. This is the story of how I found out why and what I designed to fix it.

PROBLEM & RESEARCH
34% daily active usage. The other 66% were on WhatsApp.
Results
Faster and more organized patient record sharing
Improved communication efficiency between doctors and specialists
A dedicated community space for medical discussions and knowledge exchange

Process
01 Discovery: I spent 3 days interviewing 7 doctors across 2 hospitals and conducting 3 days of contextual observation before opening Figma. The most important finding had nothing to do with the interface: 68% of doctors were using WhatsApp for clinical communication because there is platform other than Whatsapp which will act a bridge of communication between paitent and doctor.
02 Information Architecture: Based on the research, the app was structured around patients, conversations, and urgency—ensuring doctors could access critical information with minimal friction.
03 Wireframing & Prototyping: Low- and high-fidelity wireframes were created to test messaging flows, patient record access, and notification prioritization. Feedback loops helped refine usability and reduce cognitive load.
04 Usability Testing: Key workflows such as media sharing, record access, and urgent alerts were tested to ensure clarity, speed, and error prevention in high-pressure scenarios.
05 Visual Design & Style Guide: A clean, professional interface was designed to build trust and reduce distraction. The UI emphasized readability, hierarchy, and accessibility while maintaining a calm visual tone suitable for healthcare environments.
